Hospital Policies

Hospitalization & Surgery Policies

We require a 50% deposit to schedule in-patient procedures, including surgery. The remainder of the balance is due at time of discharge. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept payment plans. We do accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, and CareCredit.

Lobby Policy

We require all animals to be secured on a fixed leash or in an enclosed carrier while in the lobby of our hospital. This prevents any potential injury to you, your animal, and others in the building. We reserve the right to ask you to leave if this policy isn’t complied with. 

Medication Refills

At Harbor Animal Hospital, we require a 24 hour notice on all medication refills. We recommend calling in a medication refill request up to one week in advance. 

Online/Outside Pharmacy Perscriptions

Due to Federal DEA regulations on prescription medications, we are unable to call, fax, or email most prescriptions. All controlled substances will require us to write a prescription. Some non-controlled medications such as certain Antibiotics, Flea, Tick, and Heartworm preventives we are still able to provide from our office. All outside prescriptions will require us to provide a written prescription for you to take with you.

Missed Appointments

We understand that circumstances may arise where you are not able to keep a scheduled appointment. We ask that if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you give us a call as soon as possible. If you miss a scheduled appointment without notice, you will be charged a missed appointment fee.

Missed Boarding Reservations

We understand that circumstances may arise where you are not able to keep a scheduled boarding reservation. We ask that if you need to cancel or reschedule your reservation, you give us a call as soon as possible. If you miss a scheduled reservation without 24 hours notice, you will be charged a fee.
