Veterinary Technician:
A veterinary technician provides animal care by determining animal requirements; conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures; assisting during operations; feeding and caring for animals; maintaining supplies and equipment; maintaining records.
Job Duties:
Determines animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews; reviewing care plans and records; completing laboratory tests and studies, and diagnostic imaging.
Cares for animals by taking vital signs; collecting samples; administering medications, drugs, and vaccines; bandaging and wrapping wounds; performing hydrotherapy, physical and inhalation therapies.
Supports animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments; securing and bringing animals to examination room; restraining animals; providing assistance as directed; explaining animal’s status to owner.
Supports operations by assembling required supplies and instruments; setting-up surgery table instruments; restraining animals; completing local/regional anesthesia; operating and monitoring anesthetic machines; hooking-up ECG monitors; preparing surgical site; placing catheters; obtaining blood gases; cleaning-up post-surgical site; maintaining sterile conditions; obtaining and verifying medications.
Maintains animals by feeding and watering animals; cleaning animals’ rooms, cages, and equipment; changing cages; observing for clinical signs of disease.
Maintains safe, secure, healthy and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments; sanitizing and disinfecting holding and operating areas; storing sterile supplies; verifying shelf life; following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Maintains animal records by documenting animal conditions, reactions, and changes; updating database.
Maintains equipment by following operating instructions; troubleshooting
breakdowns; maintaining equipment supplies; performing preventive
maintenance; calling for repairs.Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional journals.

Receptionist:
The Veterinary Receptionist’s primary duty is interacting with the clients and coordinating communication between doctors, hospital staff, and clients. The receptionist is the first impression a current or potential client sees or hears, and that comes with certain responsibilities. At all times, reception must maintain a warm, yet professional appearance and demeanor. Responsible for reception duties, client relations, and administrative duties. Responsibilities include answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, setting up new clients and patients, preparing and maintaining medical records, mailings, computer operation, financial transactions, and front office area maintenance. The receptionist will assume the responsibility for acquiring the medical and legal information necessary for hospital services.
Specific Duties:

Kennel/Boarding Attendant:
As part of the Kennel team, you will be responsible for supervising and monitoring both day and night boarding animals. Much of the job involves monitoring play while being aware of various play styles and ensuring that all animals are safe, stress-free, and having fun.
You will also be expected to keep a clean environment for the animals. Our #1 priority is safety, and the Kennel team plays an integral role in keeping everyone free from harm. You will be expected to recognize a potential problem before it escalates, and to know how to quickly and carefully redirect any situation. You will be expected to involve yourself without hesitation to ensure the safety of the animals and staff. Cleaning the Kennel environment is an ongoing task. This includes cleaning of floors, kennel runs, laundry, food and water bowls as well as carriers, leashes and brushes. This position requires constant hands-on cleaning of the Kennel environment.
Specific Duties:
Supervision and monitoring of day and night boarding animals
Clean and maintain Kennel and animal living areas
Clean other Kennel spaces on a consistent basis: take out garbage, wash dishes, launder bedding, wash windows.
Wash food and water bowls and store properly
Provide food and water following approved feeding protocols
Help with check in and check out of kennel animals
Follow proper safety measures and procedures when using chemicals and cleaning supplies
Assist other Harbor employees and clients in a cheerful, professional, and respectful manner
Wash, dry, and fold laundry
Inform technicians/doctors of any health issues of any day and night boarding animals
Responsible for all other duties assigned by management
Skills and Qualifications:
Able to handle large animals (up to 120lbs)
Able to lift and carry up to 40lbs
Able to stand for long periods of time
Enjoy working with dogs, cats, and various other animals
Able to humanely and safely handle animals under various circumstances
Must be punctual, reliable, and responsible
